In a fiery new attack on elite universities, Donald Trump declared Friday that Harvard University would lose its tax-exempt status under his plan.
“It’s what they deserve!” he wrote on social media, sparking debate across the political and educational spectrum.
Though Trump gave no specific timeline, his statement adds fuel to his campaign rhetoric calling for a crackdown on “woke” academic institutions. The IRS has not issued any response yet, and Harvard officials have also declined to comment.
